By condition
Each condition has its own page, with more questions: MCAS · POTS · EDS/HSD · Migraine · ME/CFS · Long COVID.
Is there an app to track MCAS triggers and symptoms?
Yes — Bucket is an iPhone diary made for MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome). You log what you were exposed to — fragrance and chemicals, high-histamine foods and leftovers, heat, stress — and how you feel, such as flushing, hives or itching. It shows how it all adds up day to day, and looks for what tends to come before your symptoms in your own records.
Is there a symptom tracker for POTS?
Yes — Bucket is an iPhone symptom tracker made for POTS, among other conditions. You log heat, long workdays, exercise and how you feel — dizziness, palpitations, brain fog, tiredness — and it adds sleep, steps, heart-rate variability and resting heart rate from Apple Health, plus the day’s weather. It shows how a day’s load adds up and what tends to come before your symptoms.
Is there an app for tracking EDS or hypermobility symptoms?
Yes — Bucket is an iPhone app made for EDS and hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD), among other conditions. You log joint pain and partial dislocations alongside work shifts, lifting, exercise and weather, and it shows what tends to come before them. For appointments, it writes a plain summary of what you’ve logged to take to rheumatology or physiotherapy.
Is there a migraine diary that tracks fragrance, weather and sleep?
Yes — Bucket is an iPhone migraine diary that tracks fragrance, alcohol, caffeine and food alongside sleep from Apple Health and the day’s weather and pressure changes, which it adds for you. It looks for what tends to come before a migraine, including things a day or two earlier, and shows how several small things add up.
Can I track high-histamine foods and reactions?
Yes — the Bucket app counts high-histamine foods such as aged cheese, cured meat and leftovers, and notes how old leftovers are. Scan a barcode or an ingredient label and a product’s contents go in without typing, then log reactions like flushing, hives or itching. It shows what tends to follow what in your own records; it never says what caused it.
About Bucket
Who is Bucket for?
Bucket is for people living with MCAS, POTS, EDS/HSD or migraine — diagnosed, suspected or still exploring — and the conditions that often travel with them, such as ME/CFS and long COVID. Anyone whose reactions seem to build up, or turn up days later, may find it useful.
Do I need a diagnosis to use Bucket?
No. Bucket is for people who are diagnosed, suspected or still working it out — when you set it up, it asks which conditions you have or think you might. It never diagnoses; it shows what tends to follow what in your own records, to take to a clinician.
I have more than one condition — does Bucket work for that?
Yes. Bucket lets you choose every condition you have, or think you might, and one diary covers them all — many people with MCAS, POTS, EDS/HSD or migraine have more than one.
Is Bucket different from ChatGPT or a notes app?
Yes. A chatbot answers what you ask and a notes app stores what you write; Bucket counts what you log into a daily load, remembers it for days as it fades, and looks for what tends to come before your symptoms in your own records. The counting and the pattern-finding run on your phone, not in an AI.
What does the “bucket” in Bucket mean?
It’s the idea that small things add up. In Bucket, everything you log — food and drink, fragrance and chemicals, exertion, stress — adds a little to a bucket, more if it was strong or long, and fades over the following days. When too much lands close together the bucket overflows, and that’s when symptoms tend to show up. Your bucket shows how full you are today as a percentage and a word: low, moderate, high or near overflow.
How can I track reactions that come a day or two later?
Log what happens and let Bucket look back for you: it checks for things that come before a symptom anywhere from the same day to about three and a half days earlier — the delayed reactions that are easy to miss in a list. It only shows a pattern once it has turned up many separate times, still holds after allowing for your sleep and tiring days, and holds in both halves of your diary. It describes what tends to follow what; it never says what caused it.
How long before Bucket shows patterns?
It depends on what you log, not on a set number of days: Bucket shows a pattern once there’s enough in your diary to stand behind it, so it won’t show you one it can’t back up. Your bucket itself works from day one.
How often should I log in Bucket?
As often as you can manage — a tap or a sentence is enough. Bucket counts a day with nothing logged as unknown, not as a good day, so gaps don’t mislead it.
Does Bucket tell me to exercise or do more?
No. Bucket never sets activity targets, never suggests building up, and never says you did too much. It shows what you’ve spent and what tends to come before your bad days in your own records, so you can weigh it yourself.
Is Bucket medical advice?
No. Bucket is a diary, not a medical device: it never diagnoses, treats or tells you what to do. It shows what tends to come before your symptoms in your own records: things to look into, and to take to the clinicians who know you.
Does Bucket replace my doctor?
No. Bucket is a diary that makes appointments easier: it writes a plain summary of what you’ve logged to take with you, and leaves medical decisions to the clinicians who know you.
Can I show Bucket to my doctor?
Yes — Bucket writes a plain summary of what you’ve logged for a specific appointment, to send or print, and keeps your appointments with your questions ready. You can also export everything as a file.
Is Bucket easy to use on a foggy or overloaded day?
Yes. Bucket is built for foggy days: logging takes a tap or a sentence, by voice, on the Watch or from a widget. Soft colours, an easier-to-read font (Atkinson Hyperlegible) and reduced motion are built in, and gaps in your diary are fine.
Your data
Where does Bucket keep my diary — can you see it?
On your iPhone and in your own iCloud — and no, Bucket’s maker has no copy and no way to read it. The diary sits in a private space only your devices can open. A few features (smart logging, barcode and weather lookups) send a single item to be read and answered, and nothing from them is linked to you. The privacy policy lists each one.
Can my doctor see my Bucket data?
Only what you choose to share. Bucket writes a summary for an appointment that you can send or print, and you can export everything; there’s no doctor portal.
Do I have to use AI in Bucket?
No. Bucket’s smart logging is off until you turn it on. With it on, a note you write or a photo you choose is read once to fill in your entries for you to check, and is not stored. Everything else, including the bucket and the pattern-finding, runs on your phone.
Can I delete everything in Bucket?
Yes — one button inside Bucket removes your diary from your phone and your iCloud, and your account from our server, at any time. You can export it all first.
Does Bucket work without signal?
Yes. Logging, your bucket, your history and your patterns all work offline in Bucket. Anything that needs the internet, like smart logging, catches up when you are back online.
Price and launch
How much does Bucket cost?
£12.99 a month or £89.99 a year is Bucket’s planned launch price, after a 30-day free trial. There is no free version and no adverts. You can cancel any time in your iPhone’s Settings, and Apple handles all payment.
What happens to my Bucket diary if I stop paying?
You keep it. If you stop paying for Bucket, the plan is that you keep reading, exporting and deleting your records, they keep syncing to your iCloud, and medicine reminders keep working. Logging new entries and pattern-finding need the subscription.
When does Bucket launch?
There’s no date yet: Bucket is being finished now and will launch on the App Store when it’s ready. Join the waitlist on mybucketlog.com and you’ll get one email with the App Store link on launch day. Nothing else.
What happens to my email if I join the Bucket waitlist?
You get one email, on launch day, with the App Store link — nothing else. Bucket’s waitlist uses your email for that alone. It is kept in our own database on Cloudflare, never shared, and you can remove it any time from the link in the confirmation email or by writing to us.
Is Bucket on Android?
No. Bucket is iPhone only for now, with an Apple Watch app. It also runs on iPad in iPhone layout.
